The foundation of Canary Islands´ Ornithology and Natural History Group (GOHNIC) in 2012 united aims after years of similar concerns and works related to the study and conservation of our Natural Heritage. A good part of their time had been dedicated, professionally as well as voluntarily, to research and popular science mainly in the field of Ornithology. Discovering and communicating what is happening to birds in insular environments continues to be one of the primary subjects of interest. The Canary Islands, where the group carries out their activities, is without doubt still a very special scenario.
It is a non-profitable legitimate entity registered on 25 January 2013 at the Asociations Registry in the Canary Islands. It complies with la Ley Orgánica 1/2002 (from 22 March) governor of el Decreto de Asociación, la Ley 4/2003 (from 28 February) of las Asociaciones de Canarias, el Decreto 12 /2007(from 5 February) by which el Reglamento de Asociaciones de Canarias is approved, as well as complementary
dispositions and its corresponding statutes.
